Bishopsteignton Heritage collects contact information volunteered by individuals for specific purposes:

Subscribers to the www.bishopsteigntonheritage.co.uk

This allows individuals to post comments about the articles published on the website. Your name will appear alongside any comments made but your contact details are only visible to site Editors and Admins.

Subscribers to the Bishopsteignton Heritage newsletter

This is for individuals wishing to be kept up to date with news and events relating to the Bishopsteignton Heritage project by way of a periodical email newsletter. You can subscribe on our contact page. Your details are only visible to Editors or Admins of this website.

Bishopsteignton Heritage Authors

These are subscribers to the website who contribute information put forward for publication on the website. Names but no contact information are displayed on the articles. Authors can view their own draft work and that published privately by editors/admins on behalf of other authors before publication to any visitor to the website. Authors cannot publicly publish articles. Authors can communicate via the in-house messaging system without sharing their personal contact details.

Bishopsteignton Heritage Editors

Are authors with the further ability to view and edit all articles prior and post publication. Their main role is to proof read, curate and support the contribution of other authors prior to publication. Editors can publish ready articles on behalf of authors. Editors can view and use contact information submitted by individuals for the purposes described above and to directly contact authors regarding their research via email.

Bishopsteignton Heritage Admins

Admins have full visibility of everything to do with the website in order to carry out technical development, design and maintenance. Although this gives them the ability to view the contact details volunteered by individuals they are generally not required to use them as part of their role.

Information is held on our secure servers within the EU and in the case of the newsletters also by Mailchimp whose privacy policy can be viewed here.

We do not share your information with any other third parties and undertake to only use it for the explicit purpose for which it was volunteered as detailed above.

Volunteering personal information via any channel – paper form, website form or email – is taken as acceptance of this usage.
