Over the last week or so we have seen the Government announce measures to bring us slowly out of lockdown. Some of these, particularly allowing children back to school have been received generally with mixed opinions. My personal feeling is that everyone should be a bit more circumspect before doing anything that may increase the risk of transmitting infection to vulnerable people. Whilst all this has been debated on the news channels and over social media, as well as debating with our neighbours in the street – at a distance – as a family we have continued to work at providing some cheer with our baked goods and other treats, as well as cracking on with the renovation work on the pub, inside and out. Every time we make a substantial improvement or discover some long-forgotten feature we are able to see the physical effect of all our hard work and it makes a huge difference to morale, that and a jolly good Indian takeaway for dinner as a treat for us all!
