  1. Last 10 days have been easier as we have been allowed to drive for exercise and stay out sunbathing etc so between us we have taken our 4.5yr old to the beach (Teignmouth or Shaldon) every day. Just for 2 hrs or so. Toilets are not open in Teignmouth. Today we had a lovely 4 hours at Shaldon beach with picnic. Our daughter is the happiest pottering finding shells and stones and running free on the beach (as long as 2m away from anyone). Shaldon is surprisingly quiet. Most people are adhering to guidelines but always several large groups meeting, even though 2m apart groups of more separate households are not allowed – some clearly ignoring the rules.
This evening on the news we heard nurseries are set to open on 1st June as planned. So one more week of working and childcare and then maybe we will have the pressure off and feel more normal. Cannot wait for my daughter to be able to play with other children again.
This weekend we should have had our French Twinning family come to stay. The Jestins. But that will have to wait a year now.
