The Story of Bishopsteignton: A Project for the Whole Community
Category: Bishopsteignton Community Centre
Articles about Bishopsteignton Community Centre, Shute Hill, Bishopsteignton including before 1973 when it was the village school.
The old primary school closed its classrooms in 1973 which were subsequently named after the last teachers to be employed in the building: Wilson, Hawkins and Robinson. One of the upper rooms soon became the village museum.
The buildings that make up the Community Centre are now used for a variety of purposes including art and fitness classes, social and fundraising events and private hire for the benefit of the village community. Bishopsteignton Heritage leases one of the former classrooms, the Wilson Room, as our Hub.
